Arjun's Responsibility Lesson
Maya: "Arjun, why is your cricket bat on the floor? I almost tripped!"
Arjun:dosas. I forgot." "Oops, I was rushing to eat Amma’s hot
Maya: "You also left your school bag in the middle of the hall yesterday."
Arjun: "So? Nothing bad happened. I still got to watch cartoons."
Amma: "Arjun, the sambar is spilling from the ladle. Can you bring the napkins?"
Arjun: "In a minute, Amma! I’m batting with my spoon."
Maya: "See? You say ‘in a minute’ and then forget. That’s kind of irresponsible."
Arjun: "Irresponsible? Just because I like fun?"
Maya: "No, because people can get hurt or annoyed when you don’t do what you’re supposed to."
Amma: "My feet are slipping on your pencil box, Arjun. This is not safe."
Arjun: "Oh no! Sorry, Amma. I’ll move it. I didn’t think about that."
Maya: "Exactly. Being irresponsible is when you don’t think about what might happen."
Arjun: "Hmm. If I put my bat on the stand and my bag on the hook, that’s responsible, right?"
Amma: "Yes, and bringing those napkins before the sambar runs away is also responsible."
Arjun: "Okay, okay! I’ll bring the napkins now and clean the floor later. No more irresponsible Arjun."
Maya: "Good. Then we can eat dosas without slipping and sliding like we’re in a cartoon."
