Cheerleaders on the Field
Meera: "Arjun, pass the ball! I’m open!"
Arjun:miss and we lose?" "But it’s the last shot! What if you
Meera: "You always take the last shot. I want a turn today."
Arjun: "Everyone’s watching from the balcony. I don’t want them to laugh."
Dida: "Hey, team! What’s going on down there?"
Meera: "Arjun won’t let me try. He thinks I’ll mess up."
Arjun: "I just… don’t want people to boo us."
Dida: "When India plays cricket, do you only clap if they win?"
Meera: "No, we clap even when they run hard and miss."
Dida: "Exactly. That’s being cheerleaders — cheering for the effort, not only the score."
Arjun: "But we don’t have pom-poms or anything."
Dida: "Cheerleaders can be anyone who shouts, 'You can do it!' from the side."
Meera: "Like when you yell from the kitchen, 'Go, Arjun!' and the laddus shake in the box?"
Dida: "Yes! Even my laddus are cheerleaders then."
Arjun: "So if Meera takes the shot, we all become her cheerleaders?"
Meera: "Even if I miss, you still have to clap."
Dida: "Deal. I’ll clap the loudest and shake the spoon like a drum."
Arjun: "Okay, Meera. Take the last shot. I’ll be your biggest cheerleader."
Meera: "Ready… three, two, one… shoot!"
Arjun: "Go, Meera, go! Your cheerleaders are right here!"
