Rangoli Colors and Festival Fun
Mia: "Arjun, Amma said we have to share the rangoli colors."
Arjun: "But I picked the bright pink first! You always take the best ones."
Mia: "I just want our Ganesh Chaturthi rangoli to shine. Look, the floor is still wet from washing."
Arjun: "And the incense smell is making my eyes sting. I’m already grumpy."
Mia: "You’re always grumpy when you’re hungry. Have a piece of laddoo."
Arjun: "Fine."
Arjun: "Mmm… okay, the laddoo is nice. But I still want the pink."
Mia: "Then take the pink, I’ll use orange. Just don’t smudge my flowers."
Arjun: "You said orange is your favorite. Why are you giving it up so easily?"
Mia: "Because I want us to finish before the guests come. I hate it when everyone walks on a half-done rangoli."
Arjun: "Last time Auntie’s slipper made a big line through the middle."
Mia: "Exactly. Help me with these green leaves, na."
Arjun: "You sound like Amma, bossing me around."
Mia: "Amma at least sings when she bosses. She says it makes boring jobs fun."
Arjun: "How can sweeping or drawing tiny dots be fun?"
Mia: "She does it cheerfully, like it’s a game. See? ‘Dot-dot-dot, don’t you slip in this wet spot!’"
Arjun: "You’re being silly."
Mia:cheerfully with me, just once." "Silly is better than sulky. Draw the dots
Arjun: "What if I still feel grumpy?"
Mia: "Then you can eat another laddoo. That’s the rule I just made."
Arjun: "Hmm. Okay. I’ll try… cheerfully dot-dot-dot."
Mia: "There! Now the pink looks even brighter when you do it cheerfully."
Arjun: "And your orange swirl looks like a real marigold. I’m actually enjoying this."
Mia: "See? Rangoli plus laddoo plus doing it cheerfully — perfect festival recipe."
